No, this sounds nice and there is a semblance of virtue here, but this is the heresy of ultramontanism. The authority of the pope is not absolute, even in matters of faith and morals. We are duty-bound to reject, in practice, obedience to the pope when that obedience would lead us into sin. Doctors of the Church, papal encyclicals, and even Scripture itself have rejected this nonsense. It is correct that we lay Catholics have no private authority to declare the seat of Rome vacant, but we do have private judgement of adherence to Scripture and Tradition. Scripture and Divine Tradition (big-T) have absolute authority. The pope does not except when he teaches in ex cathedra, and even then there are exceptions. Galatians 1:8
